The 16th annual "Jim Sofie Polar Bear dip" at Lake Wenatchee State Park boat launch dock had a great turn out.

I am currently beginning to gather information about Lake Wenatchee history, not the real old history as that is documented in many places but recent history that seems to be disappearing. I am looking for Pictures, and/or Stories that involve Cougar Inn, Crescent Beach Grocery, Ox Bow Tavern, and any other 'landmarks' that seem to just keep going by the wayside.
I will be posting as many pictures and stories as I can on this website. If I get enough input I will do separate pages for each 'piece of lost treasure'.
Does anyone remember George Carveth and his Husky??
Please send any contributions to lodger@prranch.com. Please title it 'Lake Wenatchee' so we can handle it separately.

If Someone tells you to "take a hike" you might find the following link quite handy.         www.leavenworth.org/trails/hiking.com

There is always time to stop in at Plain Hardware and say HI to the gang, have a cup of fresh coffee, browse the store, and maybe even take home a 'Plain' T shirt.

The ALPS
Everyone gets a sweet tooth at one point or another. If yours happens to hit when you are driving thru Tumwater canyon you might as well stop at the ALPS. It is Family owned and they have tons of the best home made candy, especially the best 'salt water taffy', I've had in as long as I can remember, and lots of gifts for you to browse thru.
If by chance your sweet tooth doesn't kick in while driving thru the canyon, you had better stop anyway, to stock up for when it does kick in.
